CY-OBS: High-resolution (1km × 1km) gridded daily temperature and precipitation observations dataset for Cyprus (1980 – 2019)

CY-OBS: CYprus gridded precipitation and temperature OBServations is a gridded temperature and precipitation dataset based on observations with a daily temporal resolution and 1 km × 1 km spatial resolution. The dataset consists of two parts for the continuous periods: 1980 – 2010 (January 1980 – December 2010) and 2011 – 2019 (January 2011 – September 2019). The dataset for the period 1980 – 2010 was spatially interpolated from 145 station observations of the Department of Meteororology of Cyprus and it covers the area under the control of the Republic of Cyprus. The dataset for the period 2011-2019, interpolated from 158 Department of Meteorology station observations and 10 SYNOP stations, covers the full geographical extent of the island of Cyprus. CY-OBS includes the following variables: minimum daily temperature (°C), maximum daily temperature (°C) and daily total precipitation (mm).
