资源简介:
Patients with extensive burns greatly benefit from prompt and aggressive intravenous fluid resuscitation; however, large volume resuscitation is logistically challenging in the far-forward battlefield. Therefore, limited volume resuscitation strategies are attractive, but its impact of burn physiology is poorly understood. This report demonstrates that limited volume resuscitation did not exacerbate measured burn-induced physiological derangements. However, limited volume colloids increased the risk of disrupting the gut microbiota leading to dysbiosis which was associated with liver function. Knowledge that limited volume colloids can influence dysbiosis will allow for data-driven decision making for burn casualty care. These finding contribute to our understanding of the impacts of limited volume resuscitation for burn patient management.
