X-ray Emission Mechanisms in NGC 1068

GT The Xray spectra of Seyfert II galaxies are rich in discrete emissionfeatures produced in a wide variety of physical conditions. Reprocessedemission may originate from the active nucleus while the host galaxy may emitthermal emission from starburst regions that may or may not be coupled withnuclear activity. We plan to observe NGC 1068, the brightest in its class, toobtain wellexposed, high resolution spectra.
