This dataset was generated from a qualitative multiple-case study examining teachers’ informal professional learning in personal learning networks (PLNs) in mainland China. The study investigates teachers’ learning experiences within PLNs, the factors shaping these experiences, and their connections with educational practices. Guided by connectivism, the research focuses on the relationships among influencing factors, learning experiences, and subsequent instructional practices. The dataset contains qualitative materials collected from 20 in-service primary and secondary school teachers across different regions of mainland China. Data were collected through online map-based interviews, follow-up semi-structured interviews, and supplementary documents related to teachers’ professional activities.The files include anonymized interview transcripts, teachers’ PLN maps produced during the interviews, researcher notes, and selected artifacts referenced in participants’ narratives. Identifying information about participants, schools, and locations has been removed.
