Transcriptome analysis is a powerful tool for exploring transcriptional events and discovering candidate genes of phenotypic variances in animals. The fetal skeletal muscle development determines the postnatal muscle growth and meat quality of pig. However, the comprehensive transcriptional events happened in the fetal porcine skeletal muscle are still unclear. Here, we firstly performed a genome-wide analysis of chimeric RNA, single nuclear polymorphism (SNP) and allele-specific expression in fetal porcine skeletal muscle. Our data provides sources for chimeric RNAs study and biomarkers for pig breeding, and also are helpful for understanding the complex transcriptional events in fetal mammalian skeletal muscle.
