Surface water samples from Isla Po'i Lagoon were collected and pooled to obtain a total volume of 500 mL. The sample was transported to the CEMIT laboratories and refrigerated at 4 deg C. Subsequently, it was filtered through a 0.22 um nitrocellulose membrane. The filtered sample was stored at 4 deg C. for subsequent DNA extraction.
