本数据集利用卫星高度计数据和改进的算法研发的1993年1月至2023年12月的全球海域涡旋与涡群数据、涡旋和涡群间的拓扑结构数据以及基于识别数据和客观追踪算法,利用卫星高度计数据(SEALEVEL_GLO_PHY_L4_MY_008_047)中的ADT(Absolute Dynamic Topography)数据,采用欧拉算法中的基于海表面高度异常算法对每一天的涡旋与涡群进行识别,识别后再建立涡旋与涡群间的多层级拓扑结构,产生基于卫星高度计的全球中尺度涡旋与涡群识别数据产品;基于涡旋与涡群识别数据,采用粒子漂流算法进行涡旋客观分裂与合并追踪,得到全球中尺度涡旋客观分裂与合并追踪数据产品。本数据集共11353个json文件(11322个识别文件以及31年每一年的追踪文件),采用方位等距投影,文件命名规则如下:
(1)XXXX(压缩包文件夹)
XXXX表示年份,每个文件夹下含有365或366个每天的涡旋与涡群识别数据,命名规则为:eddy_grouptree_XXXXXXXX.json;
(2)json文件为追踪轨迹数据,命名规则为:xxxxxxxx_yyyyyyyy_net_tracks_.json。

(3)merge7_an_cy_parent.json 与 split7_an_cy_parent.json 包含典型分裂与合并事件数据,提取了1993-2023年所有分裂合并发生前后持续7天且在这短时间内不与其他的涡旋发生分裂合并的事件。
This dataset was developed using satellite altimeter data and improved algorithms, covering global ocean eddy and eddy cluster data, topological structure data between eddies and eddy clusters from January 1993 to December 2023. Based on the identification data and objective tracking algorithms, this dataset uses the ADT (Absolute Dynamic Topography) data from the satellite altimeter dataset SEALEVEL_GLO_PHY_L4_MY_008_047, and applies the sea surface height anomaly-based algorithm under the Eulerian framework to identify eddies and eddy clusters on a daily basis. After identification, a multi-level topological structure between eddies and eddy clusters is established, producing the global mesoscale eddy and eddy cluster identification data product based on satellite altimetry. Based on the eddy and eddy cluster identification data, the particle tracking algorithm is adopted to objectively track the splitting and merging of mesoscale eddies, yielding the global mesoscale eddy objective splitting and merging tracking data product.
This dataset contains a total of 11,353 JSON files (11,322 identification files and annual tracking files for each of the 31 years), using azimuthal equidistant projection. The file naming rules are as follows:
(1) XXXX (compressed archive folder): XXXX represents the year. Each folder contains 365 or 366 daily eddy and eddy cluster identification data files, named in the format: eddy_grouptree_XXXXXXXX.json;
(2) The JSON files are tracking trajectory data, named in the format: xxxxxxxx_yyyyyyyy_net_tracks_.json.

(3) merge7_an_cy_parent.json and split7_an_cy_parent.json contain typical splitting and merging event data, which extract all events from 1993 to 2023 where splitting and merging lasted for 7 days before and after their occurrence, and no other eddy splitting or merging occurred during this short period.
