The spread of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing bacteria (KPC) is one of the most serious threat to global public health. Due to the limited antibiotic options, colistin often represents a therapeutic choice.Whole-Genome Sequencing (WGS) was performed by Illumina and Nanopore platforms on MDR K. pneumoniae isolate, resistant to colistin.Mapping reads with reference sequences of the most common genes involved in colistin resistance allowed to identify a novel mutation.
