This dataset contains high-resolution land cover (LC) and land cover change (LCC) maps for a sub-region of Africa, produced by the European Space Agency (ESA) High Resolution Land Cover (HRLC) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) project.
It consists of the following products:
1) HRLC30: High-resolution land cover maps with a spatial resolution of 30 meters, covering the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2019.
2) HRLCC30: High-resolution land cover change maps with a 30-meter spatial resolution. One map is provided every 5 years (1990–1995, 1995–2000, 2000–2005, 2005–2010, 2010–2015, 2015–2019), which reports (with high priority) the changed pixels and their corresponding years during the 5-year interval.
3) Associated uncertainty products.
These products cover the geographic scope of 3.5°N–16.3°N and 27.0°E–43.3°E.
The data is provided as tiled GeoTIFF files following the Sentinel-2 MGRS tiling scheme.
These maps are also referred to as historical maps.
