Crosssing-Sea Severity Index and Integrated Risk in Brazil's Exclusive Economic Zone (CS-EEZBR)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset quantifies the Cross Sea Severity Index (CSSI) and the Index of Cross Seas Integrated Risk (ICSIR) along the Brazilian Exclusive Economic Zone and its adjacent oceanic regions. The data decomposes the sea state into wind waves, primary swell, and secondary swell, evaluating the wave energy density alongside the directional interactions among these spectral partitions. The analysis delivers metrics grounded in two complementary physical frameworks: modulational instability for restrictive crossing angles between 40° and 60°, and kinematic interference over a wider domain of 30° to 150°. The findings demonstrate that the hazard level of crossing seas is dictated by the combined effect of energy availability, angular separation, and spectral coupling, rather than relying exclusively on the significant wave height. Consequently, the dataset serves as a technical instrument for identifying dynamic instability and structural danger conditions, thereby facilitating the comprehensive assessment of hydrodynamic risks for navigation, marine infrastructure, and offshore operations in the South Atlantic.
