THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL COMMUNICATION IN MODERN LINGUISTICS

The article examines the formation and development of digital communication in modern linguistics. It analyzes changes in the language system in the digital age, Internet linguistics, the theory of computer-mediated communication (CMC), social media discourse, and the semantic-pragmatic features of multimodal texts, emojis, memes and other digital signs. The impact of digital communication on language change, the emergence of new genres, pragmatics, lexicography and linguistic methodology is explored.
