Candidatus 'Thiodictyon syntrophicum' sp.nov. Cad16T Genome sequencing and assembly

Strain 'Thiodictyon syntrophicum' sp. nov. Cad16T is the proposed type strain of the species Thiodictyon syntrophicum within the family of Chromatiaceae of the Genus Thiodictyon. Cultures of T. syntrophicum Cad16T were isolated from the chemocline of the meromictic Lake Cadagno (Ticino, Switzerland). T. syntrophicum Cad16T has been shown to be highly productive in carbon dioxide (CO2) fixation. Furthermore, aggregation of Cad16T with sulfur reducing bacteria (SRB) of the Genus Desulfocapsa has been described.
