We have employed a transcriptomic approach to find a molecular target that could compensate for the loss of EGFR signaling in NSCLC cell lines with acquired resistance to EGFR TKIs with an EMT phenotype. Total RNA obtained from EGFR-mutant HCC827 lung adenocarcinoma cells treated with TGFB1 (10 ng/mL, 72h), infected with lentiviruses encoding shRNA against epithelial CDH1, or overexpressing the EMT transcription factor SNAIL.
