Leg 3 of RRS John Biscoe cruise JB10 was conceived primarily for the
deployment and recovery of current meter moorings from the northern
Weddell and southern Scotia Seas. During the cruise, CTD and XBT
measurements were taken and surface samples collected. This
oceanographic work forms part of an investigation of Antarctic Bottom
Water and its effect on deep-sea sedimentation.
