The effect of TAZ-K in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes

Accumulating evidence suggests that new cardiomyocytes are generated from existing cardiomyocytes at a low rate throughout life. This limited regenerative capacity is unable to restore cardiac function after substantial cardiac damage; thus, small molecules have been examined for their ability to enhance the replication of existing cardiomyocytes. A novel compound TAZ-K promoted cardiomyocyte proliferation, therefore, we analyzed the effect of TAZ-K on gene expression in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Gene expression involved in cell cycle, anti-oxidant and anti-apoptosis was up-regulated. Thus, TAZ-K may have multifaceted effects and provide a treatment strategy that complements current therapies for patients with myocardial infarction.
越来越多的研究证据显示,在整个生命周期中,新的心肌细胞(cardiomyocytes)以较低速率由已存在的心肌细胞生成。此种有限的再生能力无法在心肌遭受重度损伤后恢复心脏功能;为此,科研人员已对各类小分子化合物进行研究,以评估其促进成熟心肌细胞增殖的潜能。新型化合物TAZ-K可有效促进心肌细胞增殖,故本研究分析了TAZ-K对新生大鼠心肌细胞基因表达的调控作用。与细胞周期、抗氧化及抗凋亡相关的基因表达均呈现上调趋势。综上,TAZ-K或具备多方面的调控功效,可为心肌梗死患者提供一种辅助现有临床治疗的新方案。
