资源简介:
Lake sediments of possible middle Pleistocene age (Sample EL-1-92) were
examined for macrofloral remains. This sample was collected from a streambank
exposure of Pleistocene lake beds which are an estimated 700,000 years old. It
is believed that the lake formed during the Kansan glaciation when the Laurentide
ice sheet dammed the Kansas River valley (Jack Oviatt, personal communication,
July 31, 1992). Macrofloral analysis will be used to determine if remains
represent modern or Pleistocene vegetation.
