Individual-level raw data on carcass characteristics, meat quality, bone quality and muscle myopathies in slow-growing chickens raised under indoor and free-range housing systems
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains raw individual-level data from an experiment investigating the effects of genotype and housing system on carcass characteristics, breast meat quality, bone quality, and the incidence of breast muscle myopathies in slow-growing Hubbard chickens. The study included 120 birds representing two genotypes (JA757 and JA787) and two housing systems (indoor and free-range). The dataset includes measurements obtained from fresh and thawed breast muscles, legs, and macroscopic scoring of breast muscle myopathies. Detailed information on variables, units, and analytical methods is provided in the LEGEND worksheet. The dataset is associated with the research article “From coop to table: How increased welfare conditions shape chicken meat quality”.
