Hand Gesture with Switching States

This dataset provides 3-channel surface electromyography (sEMG) recordings capturing both static states (STA) and dynamic movement switching states (SWI) between STA gestures. Designed to study continuous motion control, it specifically focuses on the SWI during gesture switching. Data was collected from participants performing 6 distinct SWI types between every pair of STA gestures, following a predefined sequence across 10 repeated trials per session. Each complete movement cycle (STA-SWI-STA) was strictly timed to 5 s total duration, with SWI systematically varied across three duration groups (0.5s, 1.0s, 1.5s). Inter-movement rest periods (5s) and inter-trial rest (1 min) were enforced to minimize fatigue. Each trial lasted 1 min. This structured dataset enables research on sEMG dynamics during posture switching, temporal pattern analysis of movement switching, and the development of continuous gesture recognition models.
