Nephrotoxic Chemotherapy, Drug Exposure

The concept set includes the following ingredients: Azacitidine, Bevacizumab, Bortezomib, Carboplatin, Carfilzomib, Carmustine, Cetuximab, Cisplatin, Crizotinib, Dabrafenib, Dasatinib, Everolimus, Gemcitabine, Ibrutinib, Ifosfamide, Imatinib, Lenalidomide, Lomustine, Melphalan, Methotrexate, Panitumumab, Pemetrexed, Sorafenib, Sunitinib, Temsirolimus, Vemurafenib, and Venetoclax. The approach to generating this concept set was reviewed by the Composite Renal Outcome workgroup from the PRESERVE study, including Michelle Denburg (clinician), and Charles Bailey (clinician/informaticist). The concept set itself was reviewed by Amy Goodwin Davies (data scientist). This concept set was not validated via chart review. It consists of RxNorm and NDC descendants of ATC classes for nephrotoxic chemotherapies listed in Nicolaysen et. al., 2020 (10.1053/j.ackd.2019.08.005) and in addition Cabroplatin, Melphalan, Carmustine, Lomustine, and Azacitidine as recommended by Charles Bailey (clinician/informaticist). Note: This concept set is not at the Semantic Clinical Drug Form/Semantic Clinical Drug Group level so does not adhere to current best practices within PEDSnet. This is in part because PRESERVE included distributed queries that did not use the standardized R framework. For reuse in future studies, this concept set could be restricted to SCDF/SCDG."
