Heliconius is a diverse genus of Neotropical mimetic butterflies that choose appropriate mates based on wing color patterns. To begin to understand how color patterns and preference co-evolve, we re-sequenced the genomes of over 100 Heliconius cydno alithea males and used them to identify the genetic bases of wing color and color preference.
