The aim of this study is to estimate the eleutheroembryonic stage based on gene expression changes following post-hatching starvation in the NIES-R and Hd-rR strains of medaka (Oryzias latipes). We analyzed the changes in gene expression patterns in post-hatching individuals under both feeding and starvation conditions. This analysis revealed how starvation affects development and growth, and identified key genes that play significant roles under nutrient-deficient conditions. Overall design: To investigate the effect of starvation on gene expression, we obtained gene expression data using Lasy-seq from whole-body RNA samples collected from the NIES-R and Hd-rR strains on the day of hatching, with 4 feeding groups and 4 non-feeding groups (at 2, 4, 6, and 8 days post-hatching). Subsequently, PCA and GO analysis were conducted to identify genes whose expression increased or decreased depending on the presence or absence of feeding.
