Draft genome of 'Candidatus Phytoplasma pyri' strain UCh_1, the causal agent of pear decline in Chilean orchards. This pathogen significantly impacts European pear trees (Pyrus communis) and also infects common rootstocks such as quince (Cydonia oblonga) and Pyrus calleryana. This study represents the first sequencing report of the genome of this phytoplasma, both in Chile and globally, providing valuable insights for future research on this pathogen and the disease it causes.
