Seasonal Ice Mass Balance (SIMB) Buoy Data from the Weddell Sea Marginal Ice Zone, Winter and Spring 2019

This dataset contains measurements collected during July-August 2019 ("IMB_Winter") and October-December 2019 ("IMB_Spring") by two Cryosphere Innovations Seasonal Ice Mass Balance Buoys, deployed during the Southern Ocean Seasonal Cycle Experiment (SCALE). For information on the platform, please see the file "SIMB3_Buoys.txt"For deployment conditions, including sea ice thickness, height of sounder, height of thermistor string, please see the relevant file "IMB_Winter.txt" or "IMB_Spring.txt". These files also include a link to the Cruise Reports for each cruise. The datasets themselves are included in .csv files. The SIMB deployed in winter had a modifed thermistor string (extended to 10 m length) - see the attached csv for the thermistor locations. N.B. The timestamp is reported from the manufacturer in Excel date format, at Eastern Standard Time (UTC -5).
