Water boundary data set of Hulun Lake from 1975 to 2018

This data set includes 38 periods of water boundary data of Hulun Lake from 1978-1982 and 1990, which are published annually from 1975 to 2018. This data set mainly reflects the water distribution and time series changes of Hulun Lake. Based on Landsat30m resolution image, normalized water index NDWI was calculated in this study, and threshold was automatically determined by OTSU algorithm. The overall accuracy of this data set was greater than 99%. This data set contains long time series of water boundary, lake area and other attribute information of Hulun Lake, which can provide basic data support for the assessment of lake temporal and spatial changes and lake water quantity changes, as well as basic data support and scientific basis for the research on the relationship between water resources change, climate change and lake response. Extraction and monitoring of water boundary changes in Hulun Lake are of great significance to ecological environment protection and sustainable economic development.
