BoSEC: Ecosystem Dynamics and Sustainable Utilization
of Marine Living Resources in the Bohai Sea
BoSEC is the Chinese contribution to the International
GLOBEC Programme. The project is composed of four
principle foci:
1) the early life history of the Bohai Prawn and its
key processes in the habitiat
2) zooplankton population dynamics and their role in
Bohai Sea productivity
3) tropho-dynamics in the food web and the shift
mechanism of the dominant species in the Bohai Sea
Ecosystem
4) Bohai Sea ecosystem dynamics modelling
The project will ran from January 1997 -
December 2000 and was funded by the National Natural
Science Foundation of China
