The Psychosocial Characteristics and Experiences of Twice-Exceptional Individuals

My PhD thesis explores the psychosocial characteristics and educational experiences of twice-exceptional individuals in Australia, who possess both giftedness and a disability. Using a socio-ecological and talent development framework, including models by Bronfenbrenner and Gagné, the research provides insight into the unique challenges and strengths of twice-exceptional individuals. Through studies with children, adolescents, parents, and adults, it aims to improve early identification and support, raise awareness of twice-exceptional experiences, and contribute empirical data to inform educators and psychologists. The ultimate goal is to enhance intervention strategies and foster environments that nurture their dual exceptionalities.
