Museomics unveil the phylogeny and biogeography of the neglected Juan Fernandez archipelago Megalachne and Podophorus endemic grasses and their connection with relict Pampean-Ventanian fescues

We used a museomic approach based on genome skim data to uncover the phylogenetic and biogeographical history of the Fernandezian Megalachne and Podophorus grasses endemic from Juan Fernandez islands. The aims of our study were to i) infer the phylogeny of Megalachne and Podophorus within a large representation of Loliinae lineages; ii) identify the closest relatives of the Fernandezian grasses; iii) estimate divergence times of the Fernandezian lineages.
