The United States Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) and the Bovine Functional Genomics Laboratory (BFGL) at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) collaborated to generate 265,776 five prime EST sequences from eight bovine pooled-tissue libraries, three of which were created using full-length enrichment strategies. The objective of this project was to identify a set of clones predicted to contain the full CDS of the cognate gene, and sequence over 1000 bovine full-length insert cDNAs (bFLICs) representing unique bovine genes.
