California County Boundaries and Identifiers

County boundaries along with third party identifiers used to join in external data. Boundaries are from the the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), which receives updates from Local Agency Formation Commissions and other local authorities. Identifiers are joined in from the US Census Bureau and US Board on Geographic Names (GNIS) to facilitate joining third party data. This layer postprocesses the coastline to cut off coastal buffers into separate polygons and removes them. This feature layer is for public use.
