Intestinal viral and bacterial microbiota of mink (neovison vison) with pre-weaning diarrhea syndrome

The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of the intestinal microbiota for the pre-weaning diarrhea syndrome of mink (neovison vison). To determine the intestinal viral and bacterial microbiota of minks with pre-weaning diarrhea syndrome, Illumina Next Generation Sequencing technology was used to carry out targeted 16S amplicon sequencing to determine the bacterial populations and also deep sequencing to determine the viral content of feces sample pools from healthy non-diarrheic mink and from sick mink with diarrhea.
