Aedes aegypti is an important mosquito vector species of human diseases. Repellants represent the first line of defense against potentially deadly mosquito bites, but surprisingly little is known about the mode of action of the most common repellants. We therefore carried out RNA sequencing to explore the transcript-level changes of Ae. aegypti in response to both DEET and citronella.
