资源简介:
This data set contains earth images acquired by the imaging radar,
SIR-B, on board the space shuttle Challenger in October 1985. This
imagery includes several independent data takes which provide imagery
over areas of Australia, Europe, western South America, North America,
and north eastern Africa as well as limited areas of the middle east,
Asia, and off the southern coast of Africa. This imagery can be very
useful for several geographic, geologic, and oceanographic
applications as well as photogrammetric applications for overlapping
images acquired with different viewing geometry.
SIR-B is a horizontally polarized L-band radar operating at frequency
1.28 GHz (wavelength 23 cm). The SIR-B antenna had the capability of
being mechanically tilted to acquire data at varying incidence angles
from 15 to 60 degrees. The SIR-B obtained imagery at a resolution of
approximately 25 m (varying with incidence angles) with a swath width
of 20-50 km. The SIR-B provided both digitally recorded and optically
recorded data.
