Pan trap dataset , week 4 lab

In this experiment, we used coloured- plastic bowls to make pan trap and there were 3 different colours were used such as blue, yellow and white. In each experiment site which were woodlot and grassland, we placed 9 plastic bowls with alternating colour (blue, yellow, white) and each plastic bowl was 3 meter away from each other. These plastic bowls were half-filled with soapy water in order to prevent insects from escaping out of pan trap. After one hour, we came back to the experiment site and counted the total number of insect captured in each bowl and then drained off soapy water and released those insects. We identified the number of different insect species in each bowl and then figured the name of each insect species after lab period. The woodlot and grassland were at York University, Keele campus. The experiment was done on September 29, 2014 from 3pm to 4 pm. The weather was clear, sunny and the temperature was around 24 Celsius degree.
