Best parcel delivery providers in the United Kingdom (UK) 2022

According to a 2022 survey, 61 percent of respondents from the United Kingdom rated DPD as the best parcel delivery provider in their country. 55 percent rated the longstanding UK based courier company, Royal Mail, which was publicly owned until 2015, as the best UK parcel delivery provider.Despite its popularity with consumers, Royal Mail was only the second most commonly listed delivery option by retailers in the country. It was bested by Germany based Hermes Group, which also operates in Italy, Austria, Russia, and China.Royal Mail’s delivery volumeRoyal Mail distributed over 1.7 billion parcels through its core network and an additional 9.5 billion letters in its 2021 fiscal year. Volumes have steadily increased in the past two years, despite the number of letters delivered declining in the same time period. Customer satisfactionA different 2018 survey found that 95 percent of online shoppers who bought and returned an item in the UK were satisfied with their latest delivery from Royal Mail. 61 percent of survey respondents also stated that they would be more likely to use a retailer if Royal Mail was delivering.
