The present invention relates to a nucleic acid for increased expression of hemagglutinin (HA) of a type A or B influenza virus in a plant comprising a polynucleotide encoding HA， a regulatory region active in a plant and comprising a coresponding promoter and enhancer of CPMV. The invention further relates to a plant comprising the claimed nucleic acid that is useful in a method of producing influenza virus-like particles (VLPs). The invention also relates to the produced VLPs and immunogenic compositions comprising the same that are useful in methods of inducing immunity to an influenza virus. The invention also relates to a plant， plant extract and food supplement comprising VLPs and uses thereof.
