To reveal the role of gut microbiota in the protective effects of Wushen Decoction (WST) on heart failure (HF), a myocardial infarction (MI)-induced HF mouse model was established with or without WST (36g/kg/d) administration. Mice that underwent the same surgery but without ligating left anterior descending coronary artery treated with vehicle were used as sham group. Faecal samples from mice in Sham, HF and WST group were collected and measured by 16S rRNA sequencing. The results showed that Wushen Decoction reverses gut microbial dysbiosis of post-MI HF mice. In addition, the founding implied that the WST-induced alteration of gut microbiota might be related to immune modulation.
