We used whole genome sequencing (WGS) to retrospectively analyse ESBL-producing ECC isolates in patient horses of an equine hospital in Finland from 2011 through 2023. The objectives of this study were 1) to phenotypically and genotypically characterise ESBL-producing Enterobacter cloacae complex (ECC) isolates occurring in patient horses at an equine hospital, and 2) to identify infection types caused by ECC in horses.
