Grassland and Woodlot Insect Specie Sampling

Data on insect abundance and insect species within a York University grassland and a York University woodlot was obtained on a windy, rainy afternoon on October 3, 2014 with the help of Arlene Tran. Insect abundance and number of different taxonomic groups within 20 quadrats randomly placed were recorded. 10 quadrats were placed in the grassland and 10 were placed in the woodlot. The taxonomic groups were also observed and recorded. The purpose of this sampling was to obtain information on the abundance and variety of organisms living in the grassland and woodlot being examined.
