Knowledge on the biomethane production from different HTL-PW sources and the microbial profile upon different feed composition may lead to a better comprehension of how to optimize AD systems to treat HTL-PW and how to integrate HTL and AD technologies for energy exploitation from residues. Therefore, it has been hypothesized that the valorization of HTL-PW from different sources by AD could be elucidated by combining temporal biomass sampling and sequencing with the performance of the bioreactors for biomethane production.
