Great Lakes dataset for "Subsurface heatwaves in lakes" published Nature Climate Change (2025). AnnualStats_output contains matfiles for various heatwave annual metrics for each of the 40 FVCOM sigma layers. The folder 'erain' contains the annual statistics from ERA-driven GLARM downscaling for 43 years (1980-2022). The folders 'GISS85', ‘IPSL85’, ‘MPI85’ contain the annual statistics from GISS-driven, IPSL-driven, and MPI-driven GLARM downscaling for 20 years under RCP 8.5 (2080-2099). Each matfile contains the data for every 35749 FVCOM grids. The lon/lat for each grid is in the LonLat.mat file. The ‘area’ of each FVCOM grid (to calculate weighted average over an area) is in the Art1.mat file. The depth of each sigma layer is in the Depth.mat. DailyStats_output contains the matfiles for the daily heatwave intensity for the ERA-driven GLARM downscaling for each of the 40 FVCOM sigma layers.
