Curated JSON Dataset of Prioritized Breath VOC Candidates for Asthma, Bronchiectasis, and COPD

This deposit contains curated JSON files of selected breath volatile organic compounds associated with asthma, bronchiectasis, and COPD. Core and pair-associated VOCs were prioritized using permutation-based cumulative distribution function ranking, whereas disease-exclusive VOCs were descriptively ordered using within-group interquartile range after log transformation. Each record includes available compound identifiers, chemical names, disease associations, ranking information, putative biological sources or pathways, and supporting literature. Selection considered statistical ranking, chemical interpretability, annotation plausibility, and prior breathomics evidence. These data are intended for exploratory biomarker prioritization and hypothesis generation and do not represent independently validated diagnostic biomarkers. The source breathomics dataset was originally published by Kuo et al. and is publicly available at DOI: 10.1038/s41597-024-03052-2. The present JSON files support the manuscript titled “Nonparametric Prioritization of Breath VOC Signatures for Differential Diagnosis of Asthma, Bronchiectasis, and COPD.”
