Genome assembly and annotation of Bouteloua eriopoda (Poaceae)

This dataset includes the PacBio HiFi draft genome assembly and annotation of Bouteloua eriopoda (black grama), a rhizomatous grass native to the Chihuahuan Desert and critical for arid-land ecosystems. The assembly was generated with hifiasm and annotated with Helixer for structural gene prediction. The genome spans ~1.67 Gb with an N50 of 1.0 Mb and 99.2% BUSCO completeness.The dataset contains the assembled genome FASTA, GFF3 gene annotation, CDS FASTA, and peptide FASTA. These genomic resources provide the first reference for B. eriopoda, offering new opportunities for comparative genomics, studies of polyploidy, and research on desert grassland adaptation.
