Bulk RNA-seq of immortalized rabbit-derived ocular surface epithelial cells (cornea, limbus, and conjunctiva)

Rabbits are widely used experimental animals for the safety evaluation of ocular drugs and cosmetics. We established immortalized rabbit-derived ocular surface epithelial cells from the cornea, limbus, and conjunctiva using the K4DT and SV40 methods. The aim of this transcriptomic dataset is to assess whether the immortalized cells retain their original tissue-specific characteristics. Gene expression profiling revealed that corneal- and limbal-derived cells exhibited similar transcriptional patterns, whereas conjunctival-derived cells showed distinct gene expression profiles.
