We simulate the SCS dipole in 2021 with a model simulation domain shown in 98-130°E, 4-25°N, with land to its west and ocean on the remaining three sides. To resolve the mesoscale eddy, the spatial resolution is set to 1/24°×1/24°, and the vertical direction is divided into 32 layers. HYCOM data are used as initial and boundary fields, and CFSR data are used as atmospheric forcing fields. The western boundary of the simulation area is closed, and the east, north and south boundaries are opened.
