Multidisciplinary Family Treatment for Adolescents With Restrictive Eating Disorders

This database includes the raw data linked with the paper “Assessing Family Functioning Before and After an Integrated Multidisciplinary Family Treatment for Adolescents With Restrictive Eating Disorders” published on “Frontiers in Psychiatry”.

In this paper, we reported sociodemographic information and Lausanne Trilogue Play scores for each family member and phase, pre and post treatment.

The aim of the present study was to look for significant pre-post differences in family functioning in the families of adolescent patients with severe REDs who underwent a 6-month (± two) multidisciplinary treatment program.

We administered the Lausanne Trilogue Play clinical version at baseline and after a 6-month (± two) multidisciplinary treatment program to 18 families whose adolescent member was affected by a Restrictive Eating Disorder.

A significant change emerged in family functioning after the treatment, but only for the interactive phase 2, when the father is required to interact with the daughter while the mother silently observes. The results of this study suggest that a relatively brief multidisciplinary treatment program may significantly improve family functioning in the families of patients diagnosed with severe REDs.
