This dataset contains raw experimental data supporting a manuscript currently under preparation entitled “Synergistic interaction between lead and cadmium via metal-transporter gene upregulation in mice”. To investigate whether the potential synergistic interaction between lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) is associated with the expression of metal transporter genes, a mouse bioassay was conducted to examine changes in the relative expression levels of metal transporter genes related to synergistic interactions in mouse organs.The dataset includes data on cumulative feed intake and body weight gain of mice throughout the exposure period. It also contains concentrations of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, and Mn) in mouse diets under different treatments, determined by inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) (8900 G3665A, Agilent, CA, USA), as well as concentrations of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe) in kidney, liver, and femur samples collected at the end of the exposure period. In addition, the dataset provides relative mRNA expression levels of metal transporter-related genes, including Dmt1, Zip8, and Zip14, obtained by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis. Experimental design information and exposure conditions are also provided.All animal experiments were conducted in accordance with institutional guidelines and received approval from the Research Ethics Committee of Henan University of Technology.These data correspond to the figures and tables presented in the associated manuscript and are provided to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and data reuse. The data underlying this article will be shared on reasonable request to the corresponding author.
