This 3D model of a vessel shows traces of tool use to modify the base. **Technical details** The 3D model was created with the David SLS-3 scanner. The original file size is 1.53GB, has a resolution of 0.0111mm (vertex spacing) and contains 7220929 vertices. To be able to make a printable model that still shows the relevant traces, the base part was separated from the rest of the decimated model of the vessel (451381 vertices), upscaled 3 times and converted to a STL file.
