The following data has been collected for the C and TN treatment from a mesocosm experiment. The C and TN treatments simulated winter and summer conditions respectively. Day 10 and 17 was selected for the analysis. The cell shape and morphological features data were analysed based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and epifluorescence microscopy (EpiM). The elemental composition of prokaryotes was estimated based on energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). The particles abundance (0.2 µm fraction), including both phages and vesicles was collected based on nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) at the end of the mesocosm experiment, i.e. Day 27. This data has been used for analysis in the research article, "Prokaryotic morphological features and maintenance activities governed by seasonal productivity conditions" published in FEMS Microbiology Ecology.
