Gene expression in CD21low and CD21pos B cells from CVID patients

A subgroup of CVID patients presents with a loss of switched memory B cells and an accumulation of CD21low B cells.RNAseq data from CVID derived CD21low and CD21pos B cells were compared to naive CD21pos B cells in Healthy controls. The data reveal a distinct gene expression profile in CD21low B cells compared to HD. CD21 low and CD21pos B cells were sorted from freshly isolated PBMCs of CVID patients and healthy controls. Sorting included gating on CD19pos, CD27neg, IgDpos naive B cells and CD21low and CD21pos B cells were differentiated by low expression of CD21 and CD38 or high expression of CD21 and intermediate to low levels of CD38 respectively and cells were processed for RNA isolation.
