We propose a 30 ks XMM-Newton observation to probe the candidate supernovaremnant SNR J0451-6717 which we recently discovered around the radio pulsar PSRJ0451-67 in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The observation will allow us tostudy the morphology and X-ray spectrum of SNR J0451-6717 in much more detail asis possible with the eROSITA data which led to its discovery. We will alsosearch for emission from the pulsar either as an interior hard source or as anon-thermal component in the spectrum. We initiated new radio observations toreveal the non-thermal radio emission of the SNR and to improve the spin-downparameters of the pulsar. Combining the new X-ray data with new radio data isessential to establish the association of PSR J0451-67 with the SNR and determine their properties. [truncated! Please see actual data for full text]
